Za účelem podpory nových metod výuky vyvinula síť partnerských organizací Generation Europe v čele s belgickou nadací Generation Europe Foundation novou vzdělávací metodu „Learning Diaries“ (neboli vzdělávací diáře), které reagují na specifika zvolené cílové skupiny.
V České republice se projekt Žákovský diář poprvé realizuje v tomto školním roce. Za velký úspěch považujeme, že se do této pilotní fáze přihlásilo 150 základních škol, které si pro své žáky objednaly přes 10,5 tisíc diářů. Podle prvních ohlasů pedagogové oceňují především pomůcky na finanční vzdělávání – kvarteto a plakáty, které byly spolu s diáři a metodickými příručkami do škol rozeslány, a také informace o Evropské unii a aktuálních spotřebitelských tématech, které se v diáři probírají a které se žáků druhého stupně přímo dotýkají.
Do projektu jsou zapojeny základní školy ze všech regionů ČR, viz graf a tabulka níže.

For the great success of the high school series, we will issue diaries also for the primary schools (pupils aged 10-15 years) for the first time in 2010/2011.
The diary does not offer just the time planning and notepad functions, but it is also a source of information about interesting and topical issues, such as personal finances, healthy lifestyle, rights and responsibilities of consumers, the environment, etc.
All this is written in an attractive way which grips the reader, does not forcibly edify, amuses and at the same time educates. Creative graphic design adds even more attractiveness and popularity. In short, it is a practical aid for the whole school year!
The diaries are supplemented by a teacher’s manual which follows the texts in the diary and suggests activities for class work: quizzes, surveys, analyses and topics for discussion to liven up the classes. In addition, there is a card game about finance literacy and motivating posters for consumer education.
You and your students can work with the diary and the teacher’s manual already this autumn!
